Anthropologie has reportedly signed two leases in the Twin Cities that are sure to please devoted shoppers: One for Wayzata, and another for Mall of America.
A company spokesperson said it is too soon to comment, but local staff members are telling shoppers that Anthropologie will relocate its Shops at Arbor Lakes store to Wayzata, in the new Lake Street development anchored by Lunds & Byerly’s Kitchen. The store is slated to open in Wayzata in June, and the Maple Grove location will close around the same time. The move is sure to be a blow to Arbor Lakes, but Wayzata has the momentum right now, with new restaurants, stores, and residences all coming to fruition as part of a multi-year downtown redevelopment.
Sources say Anthropologie has also signed on for the addition at Mall of America, which will open in August. MOA will be Anthropologie’s first mall location in the Twin Cities. Other locations include 50th & France, Shops at West End and Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
