C’est Chic boutique has left the building that houses Moose & Sadie’s in the heart of the North Loop, and you might think that is the end for the under-the-radar French-themed store. Mais non. Owner Pamela Pappas Stanoch says losing her lease at 212 Third Ave. N. happened for a reason. C’est Chic has already reopened just down the block in Whitney Square, 210 N. Second St. It’s a larger, two-level lofted space. Give them a few weeks to get stocked up and re-merchandised (right now, there’s a sale of winter apparel and accessories and a lot of open space). Stanoch is expanding her shoe department, including designers from Paris and espadrilles from the South of France. A grand re-opening is planned for Feb. 8 with a Joseph Ribkoff trunk show, music, wine, and more.
More retail is on it’s way to Whitney Square. Shoesters, which recently closed its 50th & France store, is opening next door to C’est Chic. Meanwhile, the neighborhood is buzzing about what will take C’est Chic’s original spot—a prime corner of the block that is home to martinpatrick3. Rumors—strictly rumors—I’ve heard so far include a mid-level women’s store, and another men’s store. Stay tuned!
