October 2017

“Do I look fat?”, “I need to go on a diet.”, “I feel fat.”, “I wish I looked more like...”. We’ve all been there.

Join Mpls.St.Paul Magazine Senior Editor Allison Kaplan as she moderates a discussion on body image with a panel of experts from North Memorial Health, Twin Cities Orthopedics, and special guest Elizabeth Ries, co-host of Twin Cities Live. We’ll talk about the signs and symptoms of distorted body image, how it impacts overall health and when to ask for help. Hear about the causes and what can be done to reverse the cycle. Body image concerns start young, so how can we help our children and teens as they are bombarded daily with confusing messages? We’ll discuss that and more at Healthmakers. Ticket fees collected by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine will be donated to the Loppet Foundation.

October 17th; DOORS OPEN AT 6:30 for bites & sips | PANEL 7:30-8:15—15 min Q&A to follow.

Featuring: Ali Kaplan – Moderator

Panelists: Dr. Doorenbos (VPMA, Maple Grove Hospital), Dr. Ryan (Sports Medicine, Twin Cities Orthopedics), Dr. Gulden (Mental Health, North Memorial Health) and Elizabeth Ries, (Co-host, Twin Cities Live).
