This kitchen remodel is in a historic house in Lowery hill. The motif on the end columns of the island were inspired by the column details in the original millwork in the formal entry.

Bonnie designed a built in banquette for the eating area in the kitchen. Note that the end panels on the banquette were inspired by the millwork in the formal entry of the home. The rounded shape repeats the circular motif of the millwork.

The large great room is an addition to the Brooks Mansion on Lake Minnetonka. The beams, fireplace surround and hand scraped oak floors were added to make the modern addition relate to the older home.

Eclectic to the core this condo kitchen combines traditional white painted cabinets with contemporary walnut cabinets. The reeded panels give a hint of Asia in the style. A highlight of the kitchen is the elliptical shaped hood over the cook top.

The Palladian style home on Lake Harriet had a contemporary great room and kitchen addition that in no way enhanced the home. The home owner’s love of Tuscany was used as an inspiration for the Italian country kitchen. Scava glass pendants, “pickled alder” cabinets, the mosaic rooster behind the range and a stone floor blend with the new Palladian window to create the relaxed feel for the kitchen.

The walls and column were faux finished to look like the stone and stucco found in the interiors of Italian county villas. The country dining set has cushions that pick up the rooster motif from the kitchen.

The butler’s pantry has an inset mosaic stone rug to create interest. This area provides an extra dishwasher, microwave and wine center while also storage for dishes, platters and glassware for large parties.
