From the Clinic
At Minnesota Oncology, we join together with you in a firm partnership to construct the best treatment plan for you based on the most current research evidence and technology available - while offering practical help and emotional support for you and your family.
Unlike traditional hospital and large clinic settings, Minnesota Oncology is a specialized medical group dedicated solely to the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers and blood disorders, all in a non-threatening, neighborhood environment.
We currently have more than 70 providers serving in nine clinic locations across the Twin Cities area. Minnesota Oncology also provides you access to the latest clinical trials through our affiliation with US Oncology, one of the nation's largest cancer treatment and research networks.
Because cancer is not one disease, but a term covering many distinct diseases, many types of treatment are required and no one treatment is right for everyone.
That's why Minnesota Oncology physicians customize a course of treatment to meet each individual's needs and condition. It's also why our staff includes specialists in medical oncology, hematology, gynecologic oncology, radiation therapy and thoracic oncology - all working together to treat the "whole patient," not just the disease. What's more, having physicians with related cancer care specialties allows us more opportunities to integrate therapies that benefit the patient.
It's a team approach that includes everyone from physicians and nurses to laboratory technicians, pharmacists, radiation specialists and other support staff... and of course, individual patients and their families.
Insurance Providers Accepted
We participate with most major insurance companies and will submit claims to your carrier on your behalf. Medicaid patients are welcome. We also accept Medicare assignment - however, you will be responsible for the deductible and your 20% co-payment for Medicare's allowed charges for physician care, chemotherapy drugs, and laboratory tests. If you belong to an HMO or PPO plan, please verify that our physicians are in the plan before your treatment begins. Also, please inform our office if pre-authorization is necessary with your plan.
Some insurance companies require you to use a specific laboratory or to obtain referrals or pre-authorization for office visits, hospital admissions, and treatment. It is your responsibility to obtain the initial referral and bring this with you on the first day of your first visit. If you need assistance with your insurance requirements, our staff will make every effort to help you.
When you are being referred for a consultation or test by our clinic to another treating facility or physician, check beforehand with your insurance company to see if that facility is in your insurance network.
