From the Doctor
Siatta B. Dunbar, DO is a board certified fellowship trained sports medicine physician. Her clinical practice and care team are dedicated to providing patient centered, comprehensive sports medicine and non-surgical orthopedic care for athletes of all ages. Dr. Dunbar is a published author in the field of sports concussion and has additional expertise in interventional / regenerative orthopedics and ultrasound guided injections.
Dr. Dunbar graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Architecture and pursued medicine as a second career. She attended Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a Family Medicine residency at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She subsequently attended Rutgers University and Princeton University for her Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. During her fellowship she worked with pioneers in the field of sports ultrasound, interventional orthopedics and sports concussion. Dr. Dunbar now calls Minneapolis home and practices at Fairview Sports & Orthopedic Care in Burnsville, MN.
Dr. Dunbar has been active in the sports community, participating in both women’s and co-ed recreational soccer. Also volunteering her time to cover local events such as the Twin Cities Marathon, Chisago Triathlon and serving as Team Physician for area high schools. She is deeply committed to continuing education and community outreach and has lectured at the local YMCA, Fairview Hospital Grand Rounds and sports medicine events.
Outside the office, Dr. Dunbar enjoys soccer, Tae Kwon Do, spending time with her family and teaching her young daughter the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. Dr. Dunbar firmly believes it is never too late to start over; much like her own personal life, therefore don’t let pain or an injury define who you are — start a new habit of wellness, fitness and physical activity.
