Dr. Vine is medical director at Psych Recovery, Inc. in St. Paul, MN. He is also medical director of ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) and medical director of the partial hospital program in the department of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Vine specializes in treatment resistant depression and practices transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), electroconvulsive therapy and vagus nerve stimulation. TMS is a safe, effective, innovative FDA approved therapy for the treatment of Major Depression. Using highly focused, MRI strength magnetic pulses, TMS activates specific regions of the brain which regulate mood. It is a short outpatient procedure performed at the clinic. TMS does not cause side effects such as weight gain, sexual dysfunction or cognitive side effects. Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after treatment.
Psych Recovery, Inc. provides comprehensive mental health services such as psychiatric services for children, adolescents and adults, TMS therapy, triage, individual, family and group psychotherapy, psychological testing for all ages, as well as a reputable and effective DBT program and the Solveig IOP. Solveig IOP integrates Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), which are evidence-based approaches that help clients with a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Groups help clients learn to experience and tolerate intense feelings (i.e. coping with pain, anxiety, sadness) while minimizing reactivity. The IOP is a short-term program designed specifically for adults who are experiencing emotional difficulties, but who do not require (or no longer require) the intensive of inpatient psychiatric care. The program is 8 weeks in duration. Groups are held 4 days per week for 3 hours each day. Groups are co-ed with a maximum of 10 members.
