From the Doctor
Robby Bershow, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician. His practice comprises the non-surgical treatment of muscle, bone and joint conditions, with a special focus on regenerative medicine, ultrasound-guided procedures, and the management of sports-related concussions. Recognizing that “athletes” can be individuals at all stages of life, Dr. Bershow’s aim is to provide expert medical care, to communicate clearly with patients so they can better understand their condition, and to partner with patients to help them achieve their goals.
Dr. Bershow graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University prior to attending the University of Minnesota Medical School. After finishing residency at the United Family Medicine Residency Program in St. Paul, Minn., he completed his fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine through Hennepin County Medical Center, whose prestigious faculty are national leaders in the field of sports medicine. He currently practices at Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists, part of Allina Health, at its Minneapolis and St. Paul locations.
He is deeply involved with the Twin Cities’ sports medicine community, and currently serves as team physician for Macalester College. He has also been a regular volunteer with the Twin Cities Marathon, the USA Cup soccer tournament, the Lifetime Triathlon and other mass participation events, as well as providing volunteer medical duties to a number of area high schools. In addition to his daily clinical practice, Dr. Bershow has maintained a strong focus on teaching and medical education; he acts as a community instructor/preceptor for medical students and residents and is frequently invited to lecture at medical conferences.
As a Twin Cities native, Dr. Bershow feels fortunate to work and raise his family in such an engaged and active environment. Outside of the office, he enjoys cycling, soccer, good coffee and thinking about his family’s next travel destination.
Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists is affiliated with Allina Health, a not-for-profit healthcare organization dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
