This lively Bohemian bistro may be best known for its simple French fare, including, of course, its salade Niçoise. But it's also great for after-work cocktails or late-night eats. The hip atmosphere fits right in with its Uptown location. Brightly colored decorations and framed photos of old circus acts reflect the reason behind the restaurant's name (Barbette was a famous circus aerialist in the early 1900s). An extensive wine list is available (and easily paired with Barbette's fabulous fare), plus a full bar. Come early on Wednesdays to grab a seat for the free late-night music series.
From the Restaurant
Named “Best French Restaurant, populist vote” by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Barbette is simply good food in a casual, eclectic, come in and make yourself comfortable atmosphere. We call many local farmers friends and in addition to a wine list that will put you over the moon, we offer many gluten-free and vegetarian options. We love it when you’re here. Come in.
Tasting menus are available upon request with prior notice, and if you have any special dietary needs we are happy to accommodate when possible. We serve grass-fed beef, free-range organic pork, free-range organic chicken and eggs, all locally sourced. We pay close attention to the sourcing of our seafood.
