Hello fellow momma book nerds!
We had a wonderful book hang a few weeks ago. If you missed it, New York Times best-selling author Lauren Oliver dropped into our gang-of-literates at Pittsburg Blue and we (gently, reverently) grilled her on her characters, process, and the art of telling scary stories with empathy and gravitas. And we did this all while sometimes avoiding a big basket of fries.
We also wore some great shoes. Check out some of our shoes!
Our next book club meeting is coming right up. On November 13 we’ll discuss Pamela Carter Joern’s book In Reach. We’ll start at Pittsburgh Blue again, with Pam herself, and then I’ll lead a public discussion with Pam at Barnes and Noble, Galleria.
The book is available here. Barnes and Noble, Galleria has plenty in stock too.
Can’t wait to see you again—or for the first time—or heck, next time (December 17, Riding Shotgun and Mercy Train with Kathryn Kysar and Rae Meadows)! As we are all mommas, there is no pressure. You don’t even have to finish the book to show up. You can even wear the shoes you mow the lawn in. You can bring 100 friends. We don't care. Smart, hip, momma book nerds don’t judge.
Just as long as you keep passing those fries around . . .
