Come for the parade at 10 a.m., then stay for the food, live music and dance, and the jalepeño eating contest. Families with young kiddos can check out the Family Zone for fun activities, too. Free!

Saturday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Take your family on a world tour of food, art, music, and culture—sans the endless plane ride. There will be bazaar booths, folk art demonstrations (from Ecuadorian loom weaving to Japanese kimono making), live music and dance, and cuisine from across the globe. Adults $13.50, kids ages 6-16 $8, and kids ages 5 and younger are free.
Cafesjian’s Carousel Opening Weekend @ Como Park
Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Freshly polished, the 101-year-old carousel that began its history at the Minneapolis State Fair is ready for another summer of fun in Como Park. Tickets are $2 per person, with kids under 3 years free with a paid adult.

Fête theatre, community, and winter’s end with 2,000 fellow Twin Citians in this annual community affair along Bloomington Avenue, then head to Powderhorn Park for a festival with food, dance, poetry, music, canoe rides, and more.
