Older kids can channel their inner Sherlock to solve one of three different crimes with an entire forensic crime lab at their fingertips. They’ll examine bullet casings, match DNA to suspects, and identify the source of a single strand of hair to close the case.
Adults $16.99, seniors $12.99, kids ages 5-12 $9.99.
Leapin’ Leprechauns Family Night @ Lake Nokomis
Friday, 6 – 8 p.m.
Kids can jump and bounce in a moon walk and ball crawl to their (and your) heart’s content. There will also be crafts, face painting, free prize drawings, and an Irish stew and macaroni dinner with green ice cream for dessert. Residents $3, non-residents $4.50.
Wee Leprechaun Costume Contest @ Normandy Inn & Suites
Saturday, 2 p.m.
Rock the shamrocks and kelly green and head to the Normandy in Minneapolis for this kid-friendly St. Patty’s costume contest. There are prizes for each age group ages 1-9, and if you’re feeling extra-crafty, there’s a family group prize for groups of two or more. $10, or free if you bring a hygiene product to donate to Kody’s Closet.
Irish Day of Dance @ Landmark Center
Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
A family-friendly Irish celebration on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day! Wear green and come out for Irish dancing, live Celtic music, and arts and crafts vendors. $6.
Target Free Third Sunday @ Minnesota Children’s Museum
Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Brew up your own thunderstorm, crawl through a human-sized anthill, explore a dinosaur-era volcano and a cranberry bog, race boats down a water course, and splash in the soapy bubble station. Oh, and bring an extra shirt. Free!
