Minnesota-raised sisters Maggie Allen and Nell Lindquist know well the struggle of finding the perfect baby gift. When friends started having babies, they set out in search of something personal, fun, and “cute, but not too cute” but came up largely empty-handed. Now two years later, armed with a business plan and a successful Kickstarter campaign, they’re making their own.
Based in Minnesota and Colorado (where Nell now lives), Hi Little One designs and prints personalized onesies, hats, bibs, bags and other baby swag. "Our products reflect our Minnesota roots: well designed, high quality, sweet, but with just the right amount of humor," Maggie says. One line celebrates their love of the North Shore (antlers, fish, and hatchets), while others (anchors, bowler hats, Ray-Bans, and the humble cassette tape) are just plain fun. Ten percent of profits are donated to organizations fighting pediatric cancer, like Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
The company also makes an “I WAS HERE FIRST” T-shirt for older siblings, in case there’s ever a dispute. The Fam is hoping for a mom-sized version.
