Families at Aamodts Apple Orchard
Fall is here, and that means it’s time to whip up some apple pie, carve a couple pumpkins, take a hayride, and navigate a corn maze. Here are 10 great spots in and around the Twin Cities for a picture-perfect day with the kids:
The classic apples and jack-o-lantern-perfect pumpkins, plus a new corn maze. There’s also a magic show on September 26 and October 3, and a Halloween party on October 31 and November 1. Check it out Monday-Wednesday if you’re able—those are the discount days.
No matter what your fam is looking to do, it’s likely that Richfield Pumpkin Patch has it. Besides picking pumpkins, the kids can hop around in the bounce house or ride the super slide, and then you can all test your talents at mini golf. Round it out with a bike ride or hayride, and your fall is off to the perfect start.
Pick from the eight different types of apples, get lost in the corn maze, and climb the hay mountain, then relax with a hayride, apple and pumpkin picking, and lounging with Owen and Walter, the resident goats.
This is real autumn farm life. Take a self-guided tour around the farm and hang out with the animals along with the requisite hayride, pumpkin picking, and corn mazing.
You might not have realized that it was your dream to hang out in a 30’ by 50’ corn pit, but now’s your chance. Afterwards, try to escape the five-acre corn maze, pick some pumpkins, and check out the wine tasting while the kids are riding the giant slide and bopping around in the bounce house.
If you’re seeking a quiet, fall day of harvesting, you’re all set. Knapton’s lets you pick pumpkins, apples, carrots, cucumbers, flower bouquets, and more, and has a collection of online recipes for all the goods you’ll tote home.
Make your way through Minnesota’s largest corn maze, this year’s celebrating the new Vikings stadium. Also on hand: a corn pit, live music, a petting zoo, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, and in case the children still aren’t sufficiently worn out, a climbing wall.
Pick your pumpkins, and then dig in the sand box, tackle the obstacle course, meet the animals, and take a trip through the maze. For a nighttime adventure, check out the Flashlight Night in the Corn Maze on October 14 and 15.
Ride a pony, hang with the farm animals, pick your own pumpkins, jump around in the bouncy castle, or try your luck with some pumpkin bowling.
It’s a cornucopia of fall festivities, from the corn maze that started Sever’s to the new obstacle course, with an exotic petting zoo, corn pit (and Extreme Corn Pit), magic shows, bouncy pillows, a zip line, and much more in between.
