Log Jam

O. J. Stephenson, a Chicago businessman turned northern Minnesota log furniture builder, constructed this two-story cabin in 1927.

Stephenson used hand-hewn jack pine, which is believed to be best suited for vertical log construction, harvested from his family’s forty-acre parcel near Brainerd.

Also on the property is a vertical log shed originally used as an ice house and a garage.
