Crave co-owner Kevayn Talebi in his Carlyle condo in 2008
The downtown condo market is officially hot. Crave chain co-owner Keyvan Talebi is proving it with the record-breaking sale of his 37th-floor Carlyle condo (complete with terrace, two gas fireplaces, and an entryway coated in mother of pearl tiles) which went for $4.3 million in cash—$1,200 per square foot.
We dug into the archives for our tour of Talebi's place, which he shared with us in 2008 alongside then-girlfriend Laura Schara shortly after it was purchased. But even when the Carlyle hit the market, it was pretty hot: People tented out in front of the building prior to the opening sale date in order to nab one of the stunning penthouse units (Talebi paid a kid to wait in line for him).
Schara's background producing events for Macy's and spots on TV shows for the Style Network and TLC combined with Talebi's taste for sophisticated entertaining made for a luxurious abode. Check out our tour below and guess whether the new unnamed owner will keep the design details.
