Jay Nuhring's reworked billboards
NO. 23 | RE-SEE RETHOUGHT
He's back. Jay Nuhring, who stunned us a decade ago with his inventive, reimagined billboard art, has returned with a new series. These billboards have been scanned so the artist can play with color and size, and in his words, "make them what I'd love them to be." The art is then printed on velvet watercolor paper in limited editions. Having spent the last several years "reseeing" people's homes—photo styling and designing spaces using mostly furniture already there—Nuhring has the eye to really rethink something, be it a living room or a photo. A pop-up galler was staged earlier this year in the North Loop, not far from where it all began.
