Bill and Kara Kurth, the husband-and-wife duo behind Golden Age Design who we've featured in our magazine, are on Kickstarter looking to take their business to the next level. For years they've been collecting mid-century and Danish modern furniture and refinishing, reupholstering, and reselling pieces out of their Robbinsdale garage. Now the Kurths are outgrowing the space and looking to rehab a building in Robbinsdale to house the brick-and-mortar Golden Age Design.
"Our goal is $17k. This will go to building renovations from bringing back the 120 year old floors to brand new electrical to modern signage that will really pop on West Broadway," Kara says, adding that there's one catch. "If we don't hit $17k, we don't get a dime."
The deadline is March 28 for the Kurths to meet their goal; "backers" can pledge any amount on their Kickstarter site. For fun, the Kurths are throwing in prizes for thank-yous from GAD T-shirts to teak credenzas. If you don't know this couple and company yet, now's the time to check 'em out. And good luck GAD!
