Martha Rossini Olson at home in St. Paul
“We were testing right there,” says Martha of her kitchen, above. “My dad set me up with a guy who taught baking at the vocational school because you cannot multiply by a thousand when you’re mixing such large quantities.”
Olson’s favorite place to be at home is in her family room. “The large windows overlook my gardens and flowers,” she says. “During quiet times, this room is a great escape.”
“When I look back at the many years that we spent in our house, I believe the best times are all the family and friend gatherings.”
Martha and her husband both come from big families, so to accomodate the crowds at the holidays they opted to add another dining room and family room. "My father added a family room, so I was used to it," says Martha.

To accomodate their growing family, the Olsons have added a family, room, expanded upstairs, and purchased the empty lot next door. "It's made us want to stay forever," says Olson.
