Tom & Jody Ryan in their Minneapolis condo
"Finding these mansions that were converted into condominiums is a great way for us to have everything we love architecturally, as well as a great scape of space so we can entertain," Tom says.
“We wanted a home that we absolutely love and reflects the aesthetic that we appreciate,” says Tom. “At the same time, a converted condo is a great way to go back and forth between Denver and Minneapolis.”
The kitchen is Tom's second favorite room of the house. "It's so big and very social," he says. "It's very high functioning."
We fell in love with the craftsmanship," Jody says. "The first floor is just magic," adds Tom.
High-relief plaster and hand-carved woodwork adorn the foyer, above, as well as the library and dining room.
“Our home in Minneapolis is our favorite place to gather with our children when they are home. It really is the ‘karmic center of our universe’ right now.”
Their Lake of the Isles condo includes the main floor and a portion of the second, roughly 60 percent of the historic 20,000-square-foot residence near Lake of the Isles. "We like that it doesn't have seven bedrooms," Jody says. Just two.
