He’s done it again. Jason Oliver Nixon, known for his “Market Report” musings in this very magazine, is sharing his design prowess with the world—this time via the Home Shopping Network. Nixon and his design partner John Loecke have channeled the expertise they developed at their North Carolina–based interior design firm Madcap Cottage into a line of bedding, decorative pillows, and window treatments for the 5 million viewers of HSN.
The line, which debuted in August, mixes whimsical patterns with colorful styles and textures inspired by the duo’s travels around the world. “John and I are storytellers,” says Nixon, who’s already hard at work on his next line for HSN, which debuts this spring. “We carry a watercolor paint kit wherever we go and we’re always stopping to sketch something that inspires us.”
For this collaboration, Nixon and Locke let their sketches be their guide. “This is us bringing our world to your bedroom,” says Nixon. “You spend so much time in your bed, we wanted to create a high-quality collection that’s all about being fun, fabulous, and frisky.” Their motto: “Fall asleep to fabulous, wake up to wonderful.” Sounds pretty dreamy to us.
