It seems everyone is buzzing about hammocks lately. Call it a trend (that's been around forever) or maybe it just happens to come up with this blazing hot, endless summer thing we have going on. Whatever it is, nothing says vacation at home more than a hammock in the backyard. L.L. Bean's cotton hammock (above, $109) is a classic, whether you've got an urban backyard, a cabin by the lake, or a beach house. Anthropologie's Tayrona hammock (below, $49.95) has that perfect relaxed striped sling look that almost makes you sleepy just looking at it.
Fortunately you can find just about anything you want. Apartment Therapy has a good roundup of vacation-inspired hammocks, including Novica's Brazilian hammock (below, $116).
Perhaps the coolest innovation (right on trend with the masses of hanging chairs we're seeing) is how people are moving the hammocks indoors—taking up the screened porch or connecting cooly to beams in a loft. Wherever it's hung it's instant vacation decor, bound to reduce your stress level, one nap at a time.
