Most of us can’t imagine starting the morning without a cup—or two—of Joe. And getting through the afternoon without another jolt of our favorite soda or caffeinated beverage? Forget about it. We are so accustomed to living life tired that we don’t realize our usual foggy state might actually be sleep deprivation. Fortunately, there is something you can do about it.
This month, we talk with sleep doctors around the Twin Cities to find out what sleep deprivation means and how to know if what you are experiencing is sporadic or something more chronic. Plus, learn the stages of a good night’s rest, how a lack of sleep affects you—both long- and short-term—and how to help yourself get the amount of rest you need. Though we can’t promise to make your Starbucks habit obsolete, we can help you to make lifestyle choices that allow you to feel more refreshed and ready to go.
