To say he has a personal stake in youth development would be a gross understatement: Marotske is among the 1 to 3 percent of foster kids who’ve earned a college degree. Through lacrosse (which he discovered in college) he found passion, community, and courage to lead. Today he regularly influences state and national public policy on child welfare, advocating for national standards for foster care. And he works for the same foster care agency that gave him safe homes as a kid.
