This was the mildest winter, by far, in the 20 years I’ve lived here. Yeah, global warming might just be kicking in, but I say don’t discount The Rubio Effect. Ricky Rubio brought a little bit of Spain with him when he came over here, and I think he’s one of the reasons for our dulcet winter. As a token of appreciation for his influence during the toughest season here in The North, I’ve crafted a cocktail in his honor called The Rubio Effect. It has dry sherry, gold rum, clementine juice, and Spanish cava (a sparkling wine).
I’m also making another cocktail called The Winter of Love. It’s been an awesome thing watching Kevin Love continually strive to get better each and every single day. It’s a rare and special thing to be able to watch someone become the best at what they do, and to be able to attribute it to drive and passion. Cheers to you, Mr. Love. The drink in his honor is a chocolaty dark rum and stout beer chocktail, topped by a scoop of housemade vanilla malt ice cream. The malt is in honor of his beard.
What a fun season; it’s been a while since we’ve had a reason to get excited about watching the Wolves. Cheers!
