Brought to you by . . . the letter 'B'.
>> Birch's on the Lake opens on Monday out in Long Lake. If you have any history with Billy's Lighthouse (which it formerly was) then wipe it clean. This is like the Caitlyn Jennerfication of the space, and I'm loving' it. Can't wait to get in there and try some brews and a Beef on Weck sandwich.
>> Birdie is ready to rock, my feathered flock. Seriously, Dara and I got to sit through 12 courses and there wasn't a bummer in the mix. This is Landon Schoenefeld's dinner party and you get to eat and drink and listen to Nina Simone play through it. For a $100 plus drinks? It's a freaking bargain. Book a few spots, book the whole shebang, you won't be sorry.
>> Bogart’s Donut Co. opened a kiosk in the IDS center this week. Remember, donuts are a proven medical substance used in the prevention of Creative Affected Disorder brought on by fluorescent lighting, cubicle formations, and the revocation of summer hours. Consult your medical provider, or just print this blog out and hand it to your boss. You need donuts.
>> Out Delano way, Bonde Bistro opened. The small shop has a pretty good looking menu, so I thought I’d put it out there. Ignore the web photos, they are placeholders, but the Grillworks grill is real. Plus, you know, Lupine Brewing is open out there and so is South Fork Brewing, so there’s kind of a few reasons to go West!
>> Bar & Grill at Union Mpls is now open (I stretched the B thing, I know). The re-working of the former Workshop (post Woodman, which was after the Fish Market, which was post Jimmuh) is all together more sports bar. Pulled pork nachos, flatbreads, lotsa burgers, a hot dago (!), a Thanksgiving sandwich (!!), and a round of entrees that include a build-your-own mac n’ cheese situation are on deck. Giddyup.
>> Brut has revealed to location at which they plan to land. The former Sapor space in North Loop, is where Jamie Malone and Erick Anderson will make their claim. Cagey are they about the rest of the details, but Shea is doing some of the stuff.
>> Bad Weather Brewing has set their taproom opening date at October 9th! Bands, brews, ballyhoo are expected
>> Also, Coon Rapids is getting Kendall’s Tavern & Chophouse on October 29. It will take the place of the Harvest Grill in the Bunker Hills golf clubhouse and be operated by the Morrissey Hospitality (of St. Paul Grill, Tria, and Pazzaluna).
ALL THE OKTOBERFESTS are starting this weekend and hurling our lederhosen-clad SchmeckenKörbs face long into the next month. Say it with me slowly, "Haaaaaammmmmershlaaaaaaaagen . . . "
>> New Bohemia in Northeast on Friday-Saturday.
>> Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter in Stillwater on Friday-Saturday.
>> Gasthof zur Gemütlichkeit in Northeast every weekend through Oct 10.
>> Black Forrest Inn on Eat Street tonight through Oct 4.
>> The Herkimer in LynLake on Saturday.
>> SurlyFest at Surly Brewing on Saturday.
>> 612 Brew Oktoberfest in Northeast on Saturday.
>> Harriet Brewing in Eastlake for Rauchfest on Saturday.

>> Schwandtoberfest at Bauhaus Brew Labs Oct 3.
>> Twin Cities Oktoberfest at State Fair Oct 9-10.
. . . And guess what? I probably missed a few, but I’m just not as ausgezeichnet as I want to be.
>> If boot hoisting isn’t meaningful enough for you, why not get your supportive self over the Midtown Farmers Market Fall Harvest fundraiser. The DuNord distillery is hosting, and there will be live bluegrass music from The Gated Community, plus snacks and good karma opportunities abounding.
>> At the Pub Crawl That Must Not Be Named this weekend, I dare you to correct everyone with “It’s Volde-MORE not VoldemorT”. Prepare for butter beer in your face you, even if you are the smartest witch of your generation.
>> If you really think you have the true guts of a hot head, as in you have your own personal rating of Scoville units tattooed on your inner lip (that would be cool, for real), then I’m sure you’ll be at the Heat Up Your Life event at Bent Brewstillery on October 3rd. The whole fiery community will be there to light you up, including Nuclear Nectar, Fierce Ferments, K-Mama gojuchang sauce and more. There will be live music, food trucks, plenty of libations, and tons of milk I assume. I bet an ice cream truck would make a killing there.
