Lunds & Byerly's Kitchen
Also onsite: lockers where you can swing by and pick up your online grocery orders.
It’s not often you see such innovation from a grocery store, but this big leap forward is more than two years in the making. Lunds & Byerly's Kitchen debuted in March in Wayzata, as a Shea-designed mash-up of pizza, beer, wine, sushi, and deli. The space is anchored with café and bar seating serviced by iPad ordering, offering brick-oven pizzas, pub burgers, local beers, and custom sushi. You’ll also find grab ’n’ go meals, a giant salad bar, a cheese counter, a charcuterie station, and a Caribou that roasts beans onsite. Seething with envy? Consider this a prototype that could be coming to a neighborhood near you. 250 Superior Blvd., Wayzata, 952-476-1122, lundsandbyerlys.com/kitchen
