I just wanted to get this out there before it's too late! Friday tickets may already be sold out, but Saturday is when the real Taste! action happens. We have a line-up of ALL STAR local food heroes, and they are bringing the fun.
On the Main Culinary Stage we have our own bloggess Marianne Miller with her Dangerous Girls Guide To Cooking . In her own words: Put the pancakes and oatmeal on the back burner and let's make some good ol' fashioned girly mayhem. Your brood will think twice about leaving wet towels on the floor after this estrogen empowering display and tasting of Lobster Fra Diavolo! Learn how to kill a live lobster, how to drink whiskey, how to flambe, and how to eat a ghost chili. This is one NOT to miss.
Following MM will be none other than the ebullient Michelle Gayer of Salty Tart putting up her brown butter tart with sour cherries and cardomom whip.
Then HauteDish's Landon Schoenefeld shows up, and it's all about Italian-Style Meat "Loaf" with Brodo. Those quotes are his, and you know that means to expect the unexpected. All I'm going to say is that his demo involves a MEAT BULLET. Yep.
And finally Doug Flicker of Piccolo will take the stage and teach Transforming Food with Sugar, Salt, and Vinegar. If you've been to Piccolo, you know how food is transformed under his knife. I'm not NOT saying there will be pork belly.
On the Grilling Stage we kick it off with JD Fratzke of the Strip Club doing The Gamesman's Grill: Autumn Abundance in Minnesota. Come on, although he's a clear-headed zen warrior, he grew up in Winona, which means it's a good bet he's chewed on a self-procured deer leg or two in his lifetime.
Then Jim Kyndberg takes the stage with his LocoVores BBQ hat on to get down with a Lift Bridge Taco. I don't know, BBQ and local beer . . . do those really work together?
And finally Erik Harcey of Victory 44, the man who isn't afraid of a little headcheese at 10 a.m., will be serving up some meats for eats.
