>> Lyn-Lake Brewery is open in, well, Lyn-Lake. Taking over and gutting the old theater on Lyndale, the new brewery's taproom has an v. cool edgy, rough, urban vibe. Current beers include a Rubbish Oat Amber, Take IPA, and Sideburns Milk Stout.
>> Northgate Brewing has made their move and are opening the doors to their new taproom. Find them in the industrial park off of Broadway between 280 and 35W beginning at 4 p.m. today. The session beers will be cold, the foosball tables will be hot, and there will be live music, Tiki Tim’s, and t-shirt screening to make the day.
>> The Rabbit Hole, at the Midtown Global Market, will no longer be serving lunch ... which was their effort to roll their former counter spot Left Handed Cook into the full service joint. But, don't count them out just yet, it seems there's something up their sleeve and LHC will return in some form or another.
>> NOT closing is Figlio. Well, it's ending for sure, but the restaurant will remain open while "rebranding and expanding" according to the FB. Also, they might be selling the place off bit by bit: classic Figlio plates are being sold for $20 (with the autograph of the current chef, you know the one who's closing it ????)
>> North Loop is getting a new breakfast and lunch spot when Askov Finlayson relocates next door and the kids from The Bachelor Farmer remake the space. Stay tuned for names, in the hat are: The Farmers Wife, The Bachelor's Cousin, You Mom's Unmarried Aunt
>> Hey Black Sheep Pizza! We are very excited to hear you're moving into the former Azia space on Eat Street! We'll raise a slice of meatball ricotta in homage.
>> If you don't get your fill of Zombies this Saturday, maybe you'll want to check out the Walking Dead premier at Brit's Pub on Sunday. In fact, why shower and waste all that good fake blood? Head over for the show and enjoy a bunch of new screens in the long room and 2 Gingers specials.
>> It's Apple Fest at the Mill City Farmers Market this Saturday (new October hours: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.). You only have a few more weeks of market time people, get out there and watch the lovely Beth Dooley deliver a pie making demo, chat up some seed savers, revel in the outside world!
>> Spyhouse is popping up at 811 Glenwood and providing FREE coffee to folks who come down and check out the digs. Starting Monday through Nov. 1, from 7-11 a.m., you can score a hot cuppa joe and maybe check out some new space for YOUR next pop up.
>> It's going to be a stellar top-five weather day on Saturday, and I'll be sipping fresh-hopped and seasonal brews at our own Harvest Beer Festival with some of y'all. It's all sold out so if you're missing it, watch for our editors and drinkers choice awards on my instagram. Yes, I'm making them some macaroni art trophies, because dammit they deserve it.
