It's a great week to eat out and support your local establishments. September can be a tough month for restaurants, people buckle down after their whirlwind summer, get embroiled in scholastic activities as kids go back to school, and stay home more often to watch sports. So to lure you back to the table, Restaurant Week is here to make it a win-win.
Here's what I'm excited about:
The amount of choices on the Cave Vin menu. Personal pick: start with the steak tartare, follow with the pork loin.
The lunch menu at Cosmos has a burger with preserved tomatoes and roasted garlic aioli. Most importantly, it's one I've never tried.
Newcomer Northeast Social is announcing its presence with authoriTAY, throwing down some wild mushroom gnocchi stroganoff with creme fraiche.
It's perfect weather for moto-i's pork ramen with braised pork shoulder and a poached egg. Plus it's always good weather for sake.
Lunch at Vincent would be a toss up for me between the farro "risotto" with grilled chicken and butternut squash and the wild rice crepe with ham and gouda. You all know how I feel about crepes.
The suburbs are in play! If you're headed north after work you can get the wild salmon and gnocchi at Acqua, western drivers can stop in at Campiello for a spit-roasted beef sandwich, braving southward means a boneless rib-eye at Bloomington ChopHouse, while the easterners might check out Sushi Tango's Woodbury post for some wok-tossed noodles.
There's so much more, and so little time....
