Last night was the preview party for the Forum, which has taken over the old Goodfellows space. The place was hopping with media and foooderati; the snacks were slow, but tasty. We had some nice spicy shrimp and a tender lamb bite with a vibrant pesto. All agreed the space was a WOW, and that the addition of the bar in the center of the room was a good choice (and the only noticeable thing that could have been done by Shea, as everything else in the room was historical). The menu is as American as Cincinnati chili, South Beach ceviche, and Carolina pork ribs. Will they draw the business lunchers and pre-theater goers this weekend? This Fresh Forkin Friday, with Forum open for business, we'll see.
Condolences go out to the family of chef Jon Radle, particularly his restaurant family at The Grand Cafe. People tell me his quiet and honest leadership will be missed most. Scott Pampuch has some lovely words and information about an industry gathering.
