Well, after the exit/non-exit of Scott Pampuch from Corner Table this last year, the question of is-he/isn't-he with the restaurant is about to be put to rest.
Pampuch is in the process of selling the farm-to-table restaurant that launched him as a spokesman for the sustainability and locavore movement. The new owners will be husband and wife team Nick & Chenny Rancone. Both have toiled around the industry at local spots; I met Nick when he was working for Seven and Chenny has been serving at Corner Table for a while. The two have been managing the resto for Pampuch while he's been working at Minnesota Valley Country Club.
Chef Thomas Boehmer intends to sally forth with Corner Table's original mission to celebrate local ingredients. The name won't change and the vibe won't change (at least for the foreseeable future) and their menu reads right on track: pork belly confit with blue cheese flan and Brussels sprout salad, trout with corn cake, and Minnesota cassoulet to name a few tasty sounding things.
