Feast Season is upon us and if you're gathering people for folic and merriment, you have to make sure they are hydrated, in the best possible way.
And yeah, you can grease Uncle Bob with his chilled Lambrusco and tipple Aunt Tootie with her gimlets, but what about the rest of them? Don't your drinking chums and cool cousins deserve a little kick in the head with flavor first and booze second? The minute I tasted the Joia sodas this summer I thought about how they'd be great during the cocktail soiree season.
Super cool barman Dan Oskey has come up with some sassy libations that will fit the bill for many occasions. If you don't trot them out for the Thanksgiving feast, you can always use them at the cookie exchange ... because MAN can those girls drink.
Holiday Sweater Sparkler (above)
In a champagne flute, add:
3 oz. chilled Joia blackberry/pomegranate/ginger soda
3 oz. chilled sparkling wine
2 dashes Angostura bitters (optional)
Snow Coast (right)
In a cocktail shaker, over ice, add:
1 oz. dark rum
