Although the name may seem strange, the 98 Pounds all-you-can-eat Chinese and sushi buffet succeeds in offering a plethora of well-executed dishes for the budget minded (less than $14 per person, cheaper during lunch). But the buffet also manages to offer several premium items, such as crab claws and crayfish, as well as the aforementioned sushi—mostly maki rolls of surimi creatively done in several incarnations that are pleasantly acceptable with a dab of soy and wasabi. Plus, there is nigiri-style salmon and tuna. Another big highlight is the silky sweet and salty barbecue chicken and Asian–style beef ribs. It won’t be confused with the Charles Atlas ads featuring the ninety-seven pound weakling, but 98 Pounds is definitely a contender.
