The ShelbyKnot Collection & a Necktie Knot How-To
News anchor Don Shelby sealed his fate as a fashion icon in the late ’80s by tying a little-known necktie knot that, from then on, became known as the Shelby Knot (the dimple’s the key). It got written up in more than 450 newspapers and magazines, but Shelby, an old-school journalist, never turned the fame into fortune. Welcome to retirement, Shelby style: He acts, he narrates documentaries, he does radio, and now he designs the ShelbyKnot Collection with twins Danny and Kenny King of King Brothers Clothiers. The gig came about just in time, says Shelby. Without that anchor salary, he can really use the free ties.
