Party Hound of the Year: Wherever I was, Todd Walker was there.
We want to see more of: More cozy soirees balanced with a few marquee heavy hitters.
Party Outlook 2010: The TCPI (Twin City Party Index) will remain bearish at 2009 levels through Q1 with a bullish 24 percent steady rise by late Q2 2010.
Best Party 2009: Personally it was Best of the Best because I was joined by some out-of-town friends, it was a blast!
Favorite Quote: “Do I look like a chick holding this martini?” An adorable guy at the Basilica M Party holding the night’s signature drink.
Favorite Party Pic: One Man contestant Brian Woolsey modeling his athletic wear.
Oh noes: Another One Man moment—an overenthusiastic female fan decided to flash the crowd during Erin Schwab’s musical number. And she was old enough to know better.
Party Hound of the Year: Jason DeRusha. Seriously.
We want to see more of: Women in cute vintage clothing opposed to annoying “look at me” labels.
Party Outlook 2010: We’re breaking out of this recession and learning to have fun again!
Best Party 2009: Red Eye Theater’s Gala—because it allowed me to peek at Fallon’s posh new offices, also to catch up with long-lost and lovely old friends in the theater biz.
Favorite Quote: “Boo—they only sleep with each other!” --me in regards to the theater artists I saw at the Ivey Awards.
Favorite Party Pic: The one of Colin Covert and me, blasted and happy, at the Give Us Wings gala.
Oh noes: I was seated next to some teetotalers at the Bullfrog Bash, so I took the opportunity to drink nearly the entire bottle of wine that was provided for our table.
Party Hound of the Year: Jim Smart, the architect, arts patron, and partygoer who’s poised to fill the gap left by the departure of Sam and Sylvia Kaplan.
We want to see more of: Times are tough, so I wouldn’t mind s’more free drinks.
Party Outlook 2010: BCBG party dresses will continue their long, tyrannical reign. They must be stopped!
Best Party 2009: The Walker After Hours party for The Quick and The Dead.
Favorite Quote: “These girls are so lucky at this party, all these guys care about is making money,” overheard at a party brimming with pretty young things and the men they hope to marry.
Favorite Party Outfit: Andrea Switz's long matte ivory sequin dress with black ribbon sash at LEAD's Holiday Ball.
Oh noes: BCBG clones. Is there no place else to shop for party dresses?
Party Hound of the Year: Steve Marsh and Jason DeRusha.
We want to see more of: Interesting outfits, unique looks, can’t miss events.
Party Outlook 2010: Hopefully only the strong will survive the recession, and 2010’s benefits and parties will feature the best the Twin Cities has to offer, from fabulous food and drink to inspired spaces and interesting people.
