In true rock 'n' roll fashion, a sold-out crowd brought down the house at the twenty-eighth annual Dawn of a Dream Gala, held November 1 at the Historic Depot in Minneapolis. Throughout the evening, 870 revelers were asked, "Has it dawned on you?" By the time the evening was over, it had dawned on everyone that together they could put an end to childhood cancer.
Noshing on fine food, participating in unique experiences, and learning of the meaningful work that Children's Cancer Research Fund supports at the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center made for a fine opening act. By the time the headliner Minnesota Rocks!--an all-star band of the Twin Cities' favorite musicians--took the stage, the crowd had contributed $138,000 toward the purchase of a cell sorter machine for the researchers and $725,000 for Children's Cancer Research Fund.
