Who: Kim Valentini’s Smile Network fans and friends
What: House of Love
Where: Swanky Mount Curve, Minneapolis
When: Thursday, February 4, 2010
Why: For love . . . . a primer for Valentine’s Day, and a benefit for Smile Network International
Love was in the air in the cozy spec mansion on Mount Curve last Thursday when about 200 people raised $50,000 in one snowy evening for Smile Network.
Smile Network International, founded by Kim Valentini, brings smiles to children and youth via reconstructive surgeries by medical volunteers on missions in developing countries.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the House of Love party set the mood with rooms full of products and services for auction that bring us closer together, from lingerie and fur to Botox and red wine. One could seriously be ready for the 14th by walking right out the door of Mount Curve with a new fur coat, a silky bustier, and full, wine-stained lips. Rrrrrr!
We were all smiles when we saw ESPN/ABC Sports reporter and WCCO Radio host Michele Tafoya, KARE 11 anchor Pat Evans, restaurateur Lucia Watson, PR duo Rik Lalim and Susie Hopper, designer Billy Beson, MartinPatrick3’s Greg Walsh, and, of course, Kim and David Valentini.
BTW, who built the house of love? We’re told that the Mount Curve manse was built by Erotas Building Corp. who also sponsored the House of Love party along with TNG, Murphy & Co., ID Design, and Rikochet.
P.S. Save the date! You can walk down the red carpet for Smile Network at the Oscar Night® 2010 party at the Hotel Ivy March 7. Get glamorous, watch the Academy Awards broadcast, and sip cocktails in a Hollywoodesque setting.
