Who: Local fashionistas, designers, and artists
What: Fashion show celebrating local designers
Where: Graves 601 Hotel
When: September 21, 2012
Why: To kick off Minnesota Fashion Week and benefit Free Arts Minnesota
Spotted: Local designers mingled with guests. The show featured designs by Amanda Christine, Cliché, Drama, deLange Designs, Kayna Hobbs & Jenny Hessman, Khamphian Vang, KJurek, Local Motion, martinpatrick3, Roe Wolfe, Cayetano Legacy Collection, Rewind, SBG Designs, and Via Patina.
The Scene: The swanky Graves 601 Hotel was filled with fashionable people, pop up shops, art displays, food, drinks, and a silent auction before the show. The runway show was spectacular, with fresh music by DJ Bryan Gerrad and the room was filled with standing and sitting room.
Kudos: Before the show, guests had lots to do and see with live art paintings, local jewelry designs, and makeup tips from experts while snacking on food from Crave, mini cookie dough cupcakes from Caramel Cupcake, and sipping on samples of spirits. We loved the BLICK Art wheel guests could spin and win art supplies including paints and sketchbooks. The silent auction also featured creations by kids at Free Arts Minnesota—a nonprofit that helps abused kids use art as expression.
