Steven Tyler and Co. kick off their summer Global Warming Tour at Target Center on June 16, and there are plenty of reasons to get excited about it. Twin Citians will be among the first to hear material from Aerosmith’s as-yet-untitled new album, due out in May. It’s the band’s first album since 2004’s Honkin’ on Bobo, and, according to Tyler, the new songs channel the band’s 1970s vibe. “All I can say is, Aerosmith is back!” he told Rolling Stone magazine. Opening for Aerosmith is a legendary 1970s band that never went away: Cheap Trick.
