Grooming in Style

Grooms are entitled to some prenuptial primping, too

Master barbers offer old-fashioned straight razor shaves and haircuts. Expect extras such as a hot towel or scalp massage. "We're bringing back some of the high-level, classic services," Boyle says.
Is your favorite team playing on your big day? No problem. You won't miss a minute of the action thanks to flat-screen TVs at each station.
Choose from the collection of facial cleansers and pomade styling gels, with lines such as Jack Black, Crew, and Joe Grooming. Shopping just got easier.
Forget those pesky groomsen gifts? Worry not! Gent offers a bevy of upscale accessories, from flasks to cufflinks—we love the stainless steel wallets.
Each barber's station comes with a comfy leather chair and your own washbowl, so you can sit back, relax, and be shampooed, shaved, and trimmed all in one location.

A wedding-day trip to the salon isn’t just for brides—grooms are entitled to some prenuptial primping, too. At least that’s what Michael Boyle thought when he opened Gent, an upscale barbershop in St. Paul. So far, he’s been right. Boyle has played host to about 10 groom’s parties since opening last summer. While waiting for their shaves and haircuts, guys can chill on the leather chairs, browse available iPads, or throw back a couple of beers. (Boyle allows clients to bring in beer or mimosas for the occasion, as long as they drink responsibly.) Sounds like the perfect man cave to us. 867 Grand Ave., St. Paul, 651-797-4294,
