"When I moved from finance to public relations, I felt like I could be more of myself at work. None of my wardrobe gets wasted, but now I find ways to wear a suit jacket with a patterned or textured skirt."

Pageant queen: I was Miss Colorado in 2002 and competed in the Miss America Pageant. I started pageants in high school. I loved the sense of personal competition and trying to be your personal best. And I loved getting dressed up. Yes, there are always reasons for stereotypes, but in general the contestants were smart, positive people I wanted to be around.

Pageant secrets: Perfect Plate is a calorie control program that lets you eat what you want as long as it isn’t dessert and fits in the plate. Every girl uses the plate to get swimsuit ready. My other pageant favorite is Maybelline Volum’ Express Mascara.

Give a cheer: I was a Denver Broncos cheerleader during college at the University of Colorado. My favorite was the western costume—chaps and boots.

Beauty upgrade: I’ve always been a gloss girl, but I recently started wearing bright lipstick. You’ve got to evolve. I like Cover Girl See Red.

Travel: I’ve visited 35 countries. My goal is 100. My favorite trip was probably Tunisia. It’s just so removed from my daily life.
