This fall, fashion is all about melding. The runways in Paris, Milan, and New York saw hints of Americana, minimalism, and dark romance. It all comes together to make for a glamorous season. We got a peek at the fall 2012 looks during the Nordstrom Designer Preview fashion show.
Nordstrom fashion director Gregg Andrews shares five things you need in your wardrobe for fall.
-
Red. It can be anything—tomato red to deep merlot—but you need something red.
-
A piece of leather. Andrews says it will be the workhorse in your wardrobe for fall. From structured jackets to minimal accents such as gloves or sleeves on a dress, think sleek and clean-cut.
-
A great coat in color. Anyone can don a black or camel-colored coat. Go for a bold color that will really make a statement.
-
Satchel handbag. Again, color! Try wine, dark green, light taupe, or smoky gray. Great handbags do not have to be black.
-
Big statement earrings. Chandelier or long and linear earrings will add a touch of opulence.
