The Brits have William and Kate. Hollywood has Brangelina. We have Framelia. At this year’s PACER event, married WCCO anchor duo Amelia Santaniello and Frank Vascellaro reprised their roles as emcees. Santaniello looked runway-perfect in a flowing turquoise gown she claimed was a bit too long. Vascellaro wore a slim-fitting black tux and did double duty as auctioneer, a moonlighting role he seems to be playing more frequently. Muffy MacMillan enjoyed the festivities with her daughter Mara and son Win (who just may be dropping down on one knee shortly to ask Alexandra Gray to join the family that Cargill built). Melinda Jacobs, meanwhile, looked radiant while proudly introducing new beau John Livingston.

Northrop Auditorium reopened after a four-year, $88.2 million renovation with a gala that was as opulent as the refurbished building itself. Wide eyes and dropped jaws were the norm as guests entered the main hall for the VIP reception. Ordway president/CEO Patricia Mitchell and Guthrie director Joe Dowling showed a bit of side-eye while checking out the new glam gal on campus, while Blythe Brenden and Shane Seymour entertained a large table of friends during dinner (impeccable food by D’Amico and d├ęcor by Bungalow 6 Design). Then came American Ballet Theatre’s Giselle and a dance party with Davina and the Vagabonds. This one will be hard to top.

After 19 years at the RiverCentre, the Great River Gathering moved to Union Depot. Erin Schwab and T. Mychael Rambo opened the show with a musical salute to the Mississippi, and mayor Chris Coleman closed with an entertaining speech/monologue that makes you wonder if he could hack it on late-night TV. The only hiccup (or burp?) was dinner. In keeping with the train station theme, the food tasted like it came off an Amtrak car.

See you on the scene!
