What the Designers Say

The ASID MN Showcase Home is a true labor of love. This year, 39 ASID MN interior designers donated their time, talent, and energy to make the project a success. We asked several of the designers why they love working on the Showcase Home.

0513-Ackley_125.jpg“I’m proud to be a part of the ASID MN Showcase Home, because it helps support local community organizations. It’s also tremendously rewarding to be part of a project where we get to witness major transformations in a home.”

~ Charlene Ackley, ALLIED ASID, Charlene Ackley Interior Design

0513-Soojian_125.jpg“It’s been wonderful to work with the Blessings. They understand and appreciate great design and they trust in our professional ability to carry out their vision. Victorian style is often fancy and overelaborate, but with the Showcase Home, the Blessings gave us the opportunity to make it fresh and relevant for modern living.”

~ Karen Soojian, ASID, KSID Studio

0513-Parker_125.jpg“This grand home was built by Frank P. Shepard, a wealthy railroad and construction capitalist who conducted his business with strict principles of honor and integrity. As interior designers, we welcome the opportunity to celebrate spectacular design and help transform this historic Victorian beauty into a stately private residence and B&B.”

~ Angela Parker, ASID, Interior Places and Spaces, and president-elect, ASID MN Chapter

0513-Herrick_125.jpg“While my reasons for participating in our ASID MN Showcase Home are numerous, the number one reason is being able to talk with the public about design and what we have accomplished within the home. It’s so gratifying to hear guests say, ‘Wow, I didn’t realize so much thought went into a space.’”
