“The family room was an interesting design challenge, but we were able to create an updated custom look to reflect a modern family lifestyle.”
~ Christine Happel, Allied ASID
Tucked away on the third floor of the Blessings’ home, the family room offers a welcome respite from the demands of running a B&B. Interior designers Christine Happel, Katie Mallory, Elsa Dean, and Kacie Westensee wanted to create a private retreat that reflects the historical feel of the home, but feels bright, fresh, and functional.
Challenged by the room’s angled ceilings and walls, small windows, exposed sprinkler pipes, and a prominent radiator, the interior designers chose light, clean materials and pops of color to bring a playful spirit to the space.
They selected comfortable, welcoming furniture and accessories from Ethan Allen, and enhanced the room’s limited natural light with a trio of lamps from Ethan Allen and a pair of ceiling light fixtures from Kichler.
