Braces

At what age should children come in for an orthodontic evaluation?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems, or no later than age 7. Orthodontic treatment may not be necessary at this early age, but vigilant examination can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment and can ensure the greatest result in the least amount of time.

What are costs for these initial evaluations for young children?

Because Dr. Jesse Veil stresses the importance of early consultations for young children, at Veil Orthodontics there is NO CHARGE for these appointments. Children can come into the practice and Dr. Veil will monitor their progress for FREE, sometimes for years, until it is determined that they need braces, or in some cases, don’t need any orthodontic treatment.

I think my child is ready to see an orthodontist. How do I get started?

It’s easy to schedule a FREE initial consultation at Veil Orthodontics.  You can call our main scheduling number at 952-903-9484 to get an appointment at any of our three locations:  Bloomington, Eden Prairie or Savage/Prior Lake, or go to www.veilorthodontics.com to request an appointment online.  Until the time they are ready for braces, all of your child’s appointments will be complimentary.

It’s hard for me and my husband to get time off from work to pick up our child from school for their orthodontics appointments. What do other working parents do?

At Veil Orthodontics we offer the only FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE in the Twin Cities area.  We arrange to pick your child up and deliver them back to school after their appointment. Our staff can give you the details of this incredibly convenient program that kids and parents love!

What types of braces are available for children?

Gone are the days when there was only one choice for braces; the standard metal/stainless steel band. Depending on the type of treatment that they need, patients can choose from metal braces, ceramic braces, or even stainless steel braces coated in a 24k gold plating.
