Botox and Fillers
What are the benefits of going to a board-certified dermatologist for Botox/filler injections?
The biggest advantage is that a board-certified dermatologist has extensive training and a complete understanding of skin and facial anatomy. Therefore, a dermatologist has a much better understanding of where Botox® and fillers can be appropriately and artfully placed in order to enhance the face.
Board-certified dermatologists are also able to treat acne, rosacea, discoloration, and evaluate any moles or sun damage spots for you while you are in the office. Treatments for these important issues are most often covered by insurance. Dr. Tareen often finds areas of the skin that need to be medically treated while her patients are there to see her for Botox/fillers and they truly appreciate that she is able to address medical dermatological issues at the same time.
Many movie and television stars look “frozen” or “plastic”. Can fillers and Botox be used and still achieve a “natural look”?
Because Dr. Tareen uses a special micro droplet technique exclusive to Tareen Dermatology, she can achieve a very natural look for her patients. After the initial visit, patients are asked to come back for a follow-up visit for any necessary touch-ups. With this unique two-visit approach, Dr. Tareen uses the least amount of product to achieve the most natural results. Another benefit to the patient is that they ultimately save money in product cost.
Is there any pain or downtime involved in getting fillers/Botox?
Dr. Tareen utilizes a three-step approach to minimize tissue damage and virtually eliminate any pain involved in the injections. First she applies topical numbing. This is followed by an application of ice. Finally, Dr. Tareen mixes numbing medicine into the actual injection to further eliminate pain. Patients who have had injections at other clinics/spas are pleasantly surprised about how painless the procedure is at Tareen Dermatology. Dr. Tareen’s micro droplet technique ensures that bruising and tissue trauma in very minimal so patients experience no downtime. Dr. Tareen spent years at her dermatology practice in New York City treating famous stars that had to look camera-ready after their procedures, and they always left her office looking fabulous.
