One Great Plate: Mint Julep

You know, just because the Derby is done doesn’t mean you have to forsake the copper cup. To me it is the drink of summer, what with the bourbon, mint, and effervescence. There are plenty of great juleps in these northern parts that rate high for refreshment in our warmer months. Butcher and the Boar turns out a dapper cup that goes well with a night in the beer garden, Haute Dish makes one with Woodford Reserve (a personal fave), and if you speak nicely to barman Adam Harness at Café Maude he might make you a certain beauty touched with cognac.
