Where and What to Eat
Eat & Tell: How Do You Find the Right Cooking Class?
Where to test your chef skills.
Q: A friend of mine is looking for some cooking classes, but isn’t quite sure where to start. Do you have any recommendations?
A: “Don’t be a fool, stay in school!” You know, Mr. T was speaking to all of us really, so I’m glad you are heeding the call. I’d say you can’t go wrong with the sassy classes at Kitchen in the Market, because the atmosphere is laid back and there are fun, innovative classes that almost always come with cocktails. If you’re looking for star power, check out the Cooks of Crocus Hill fall catalog: Seattle’s JBA chef Tom Douglas is teaching a class in October. As for facilities, check out Kitchen Window’s slick kitchen in Calhoun Square, plus they have a rooftop patio where they teach grilling classes.
